Who needs a Singapore visa?

Indian passport holders generally require an entry visa for Singapore, subject to applicable exemptions and transit facilities. A visa allows a traveller to seek entry; the final decision to admit a visitor and the duration of stay are determined by Singapore immigration officers.

Why authorised visa agents matter

Applications from India are commonly lodged through authorised visa agents or other permitted local channels under Singapore's Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) procedures. Follow the current instructions for your jurisdiction and the agent handling your application. Sanctum Consulting can help prepare documents and coordinate the process through an authorised visa agent.

Documents to prepare

Typical documents include a valid passport, completed visa application information, a recent compliant colour photograph and any additional travel-purpose or supporting evidence requested by the authorised submission channel. Supporting documents can vary for tourists, business visitors and applicants visiting friends or family.

Photo requirements

Singapore visa photographs must meet the current ICA requirements for size, recency, background, face visibility and image quality. ICA's specifications generally call for a recent colour photograph with a plain white background and clear, unobstructed facial features. Verify the exact dimensions and digital or print format with the official instructions and the authorised agent before submission.

When is Form V39A relevant?

Form V39A is a Letter of Introduction that may be requested depending on the applicant's circumstances and visa submission requirements. A Singapore-based host or business contact may need to provide it together with relevant identification or immigration pass evidence. Do not assume every tourist application requires a personal inviter.

Business visits and invitation documents

Business travellers may need an invitation from the Singapore organisation, a letter from their Indian employer or business and a clear explanation of the planned meetings or events. Activities requiring work authorisation should not be presented as ordinary tourism.

Families and group applications

For families travelling together, prepare consistent travel dates, accommodation and flight details, but retain each applicant's required identity and supporting documents. Children and sponsored applicants may need additional relationship or financial-support evidence.

Original passports, submission and collection

Follow the authorised agent's instructions about original passports, physical document packs and collection or return arrangements. Submission requirements may change, so do not assume all cases are fully online or all applicants must follow identical steps.

Processing and decisions

ICA determines visa outcomes. Published processing estimates are not guaranteed, and additional checks may take longer. A granted visa does not guarantee entry into Singapore.
