Canada PR : Provincial Nominee Program

Canada is an alliance of ten provinces such as Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, and Saskatchewan and three territories Northwest Territories, Yukon, and Nunavut. Most provinces and territories in Canada can select potential skilled workers through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). These workers should have the skills, education and work experience to contribute to the economic growth of that province or territory, and should live there for at least 3 years.

Canada Express Entry PNP program

When an applicant creates a Express Entry profile to migrate to Canada, they can indicate which provinces or territories they are interested in immigrating to. Receiving a nomination from a Canada province will give additional points to applicants under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System that you will very likely receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) during the next draw.

To apply for the PNP an applicant should:

  • apply to a province or territory for a nomination,

  • be nominated by that province or territory, then

  • apply to CIC to become a permanent resident.

  • Under a PNP Express Entry category, an applicant is required to complete an Express Entry profile and show that they meet the eligibility criteria for Express Entry.
